  • And more...your webinar feedback helps determine what's next!

1. Is the list of NDCs on the Bulk Exclusions Page downloadable?

Not yet, but this capability is currently being worked on. In the future, you will be able to download a list of all NDCs excluded by manufacturer.

2. Can you backdate?

If you need to backdate, you can submit a case to Support. Keep in mind, most manufacturers have a 45-day window. We recommend being conservative about the number of terminations you backdate at one time to avoid missing this deadline.

3. Can you exclude/include multiple pharmacies at once?

You can exclude or include multiple PIDs at a time, or one at a time, as long as you have access. In other words, if a hospital system has 10 contract pharmacies, you can include/exclude all 10 at once or 1 at a time, as long as you have access to those PIDs.

You can also click the header (340B Excluded and Do Not Order) to apply exclusions to each item below at once.

4. Is there a way to see if pricing is available for all drugs at the same time, or is it just one at a time?

At this point, to see pricing per NDC after clicking Include 340B Price data, you will have to click on each NDC to see the price. In the future, you will be able to see all at once by downloading a report of all restored prices by manufacturers.

5. How does Macro Helix determine if something is a 340B price or not?

We look at an average price for that 340B NDC across your wholesaler. We then compare this to your current 832 price file to see if it is within 20% of the average for that wholesaler. If it is within 20% of the average, it is considered a 340B price, and if it is outside of 20% it is not.

6. Will you help customers determine if they are not excluding NDCs that should be excluded?

Yes, this ability will be available in the near future.

7. Does this page only contain NDCs that are restricted to contract pharmacies? Or does it contain all NDCs?

Only NDCs restricted to contract pharmacies.

8. Once you choose to stop exclusions, does a support ticket need to be opened to retest/reprocess these NDCs?

No, this would apply if you were backdating exclusions. If you need to retest scripts in the past, you will need to contact support.

9. What is the delay in prices showing on the Bulk Exclusions page vs. the wholesaler

This list references the drug catalog for your wholesaler, so it will be as accurate as the drug catalog is.

10. What if there is an error in which NDCs display?

Contact customer support to have this issue fixed.

11. Why are some fields bold?

This notifies you that the price is within the 20% threshold of your wholesaler's catalog, indicating that you may want to check if NDC pricing has been restored.

12.  Will there be an option to select all PIDs or select all PIDs in a particular chain?

You can currently select all NDCs for a manufacturer. In the future, you will be able to select all PIDs within an HID.

13.  Is there any way to warn you if pricing has been lost?

This will be a filter enhancement coming soon.

14.  Does the page only show PIDs that users have access to, or all PIDs under the HID, regardless of the user?

Only PIDs you have access to.

15. What is the difference between Do Not Order and 340B Excluded?

DNO is an ordering exclusion, so it blocks an NDC from being purchased at 340B pricing. The 340B Excluded list is based on qualifications. If the NDC is on the 340B excluded list during the effective and termination date, it will not be eligible for 340B pricing

Note: If an NDC is placed on the DNO list, accumulations will still occur.

17. When would you only use DNO or 340B Excluded (not both)?

You can qualify claims by just adding them to the DNO list, but keep in mind that for pharmacies that are pay on replenishment, those will not be invoiced. If they are pay on replenishment and are invoiced, the pharmacy may not be replenished which could create unexpected rewinds. If you are qualifying drugs that never get replenished, this could skew your numbers in terms of profitability.

You should also consider any PSA rules in place.

18. If all contract pharmacies are selected for both DNO and 340B Excluded, does the CE get added to both lists? I would like to be able to have accumulations for our Covered Entities but not Contract Pharmacies.

This list only applies to contract pharmacies. Hospitals will not be included. You would want to ensure your CE-owned pharmacies are excluded using the filters at the top of the page.

19. If you don't have 340B pricing, do you need to exclude all the NDCs?

Yes, when a new manufacturer says they are excluding, you want to exclude them all. You would not want to include them until pricing is restored.

20. For critical access/orphan drug facilities, will there be any indication of orphan drugs (a column or some kind of notation)?

Not at this time, but orphan drugs will still not qualify unless you have an exception through the manufacturer. This will be taken into consideration for future enhancements.

21. Can you add NDCs to exclude at a future date?

You will need to wait until the date that you would like to stop ordering.

22. If you restrict drugs and the contract pharmacy has accumulations, will they be able to purchase the product with accumulations prior to the exclusion?

If you have previously earned accumulations remaining, you will want to clear these out before repurchasing again to avoid flagged purchases.
